Epic Birthday party Vancouver

I make lots and lots foam sabers and I have found that there is one very easy way to make them quick and look great for birthday parties. Everything you need can be found at the dollar store (except for pool noodles as they are seasonal).  You may have to really look around if it’s winter to find pool noodles but they are out there some outdoor stores carry them through the winter or you can ask as well.

What you will need:

 1 roll of duck tape, 1 roll of electrician’s tape or just black packing tape, Foam noodles and lastly red or green circular stickers found I the stationary isle of the dollar store.

Step 1: Cut one noodle in half it will make two noodle sabers for you.  Keep in mind the party space you have to work with as you may need to cut down the length of the noodle for safer and better enjoyment for the kids.    

Step 2: Cut two small pieces of duck tape to cover the bottom of the noodle where the hole is.  Fold down the edges on the side.

Spep 3:  Cut two longer pieces of duct tape and wrap it around the noodle at the end to you just taped. This will make the handle of the saber.

Step 4:  Cut a small strip of black tape and put it vertical on the saber handle you just made. This makes a type of control panel.

Step 5: Add small circular stickers onto the black tape you just put down.You can get these from any dollar store in the office section.  These make the buttons of the saber.  Add a red button as the “on” button or the kids.

Foam saber noodles are really fun for the kids to play with and there is plenty of games you create for them to use them.   Here is a few ideas of some games using a saber. 1. Keeping balloons floating in the air only using the saber. 2. Saber soccer hitting the ball only with the saber. 3.Pass the saber. 4. Saber bubble popping.  I go into even more imaginative games in our birthday parties that include props in Vancouver and surrounding area.

You will find they are perfectly safe for the kids to use and you will find they really get their sillies out when playing with them.   Some good rules to share with them before you give them to the kids is that there is no hitting in the face and there is no poking with the saber.

Imagine Catniss from Hunger Games arriving at your birthday party prepared with very safe easy to use bow and arrows, training nets and obstacle course. Unreal Nerf Birthday Vancouver

Welcome to Young Wizards Academy providing the lower Mainland with amazing themed birthday party events.   launched last year was the Nerf Party.

Nerf Parties are best for ages 7 to 11 years of ages it's in a Boot Camp theme run by Captain G.I. Joe of the Canadian Army Nerf Corp. 

NERF BOOT CAMP PARTY

We come to where you are anywhere in the Lower Mainland.  It can take place indoors or outdoors. During the colder month we do allot of parties indoors.  We just need a 20 X 20 space as this is a close combat type party. It can take place in you home, rec center, activity room or even a large garage. During the summer parks and backyards work.

We bring everything to you including the safety glasses, pop-up bases blasters, helmets, blaster bullets.  We buy bullets in bulk and bring 400 for one party. We use three types of blasters, Nerf Jolt, Nerf Disruptor and the Nerf Surge fire (only used by the birthday boy).

A typical Nerf boot camp party takes about 70min from start to finish. Most kids are quite tired or hungry after best to have food ready after the big event.

Potter Kids Birthday Vancouver

Ready to be sorted into your house, receive and wand and have a wand duel?  Look no further Young Wizards Academy is are potter themed birthday specialist! We bring all the props, costumes, wands and professors. We currently have three Potter themed parties.

Chamber of Treasure:  Receive your wand after being sorted into your house, go into wand dueling class, fire your wand for the first time.  (these parties are best indoor to see the magic happen).  Go on a secret mission into the castle prepare to fire your wand, roll under spider webs and find the hidden treasure.  Ages 4-8 years   60min full costumed show.  All kids get to keep their wand and philosopher stone.

 

Potions Party: your receive everything in the first party but the kids enter into potions class with a second professor during the show.  Your dining table is transformed into a potions laboratory.  The Potions professor walk all the kids through learning the art of potions making.  Be prepared to make a secret snitchers potions or even a invisibility potion.  This party is a 90 min to 120min long event involving two professors.  Ages 5 to 10 years.  All kids get to keep their wand and philosopher stone.

 This is a full costumed event !  We bring everything to you !

Charms Spells and Divinations:  Professor Trelawney walks you through advanced training in this three class birthday event.  The three classes are as follows Wand training, Divinations Class and Tea Leaf reading.  This professor is actually trained in the art of pendulum and tea leaf readings.  This real class is for older kids that love the potter theme and want to experience a real class.  All kids get to keep their crystal pendulum and wand..  Ages 7 to 12 years .  120min event !

 

Potter parties are a fantastic themed adventurous for kids, so giving a Potter themed kids birthday party is simply amazing! For that, you need to pay attention to your party decorations. We have an exciting new birthday party to announce at Young Wizards Academy.  Get ready to jump, get ready to dive, get ready to NERF!   Boot camp Nerf  Yes, we have launched a very new party for this  called Nerf Strikes back.  It’s a 60 to 70min birthday Party Package. I bring everything to the party you just need to provide the location. It is a close combat party and I need a 20 x 20 cleared space only for ten kids.  Rec centers, Parks and amenity room are good size location. If you have about ten kids a good size living room can work as well too. Renting a entire gym is not needed for this event.  Most kids associate gym with unstructured activity.

Welcome to one of Vancouver’s biggest themed birthday party company.  Young Wizards Academy a family owned company created in Port Coquitlam.  We now have 12 different birthday party themes to choose from which involve costumes for all the kids and props like wands and sabers or sword for the kids to keep.  These are kids birthday parties for ages 3 to 13 years of age.  One of our newest boot camp Nerf Party is great for the old kids in that age group.

 

 All parties are professionally designed shows created by the entertainers, the detail  involved in the shows are extensive it’s best to have picture time after the shows are complete.  All shows are very interactive with kids going through special training games, poses and secret missions where treasure can and is found.   Some of the parties are best indoors as certain pyrotechnics involved in the magic are seen better in lower level light like the indoors.  

Some of the theme parties are Finding the Force Within, Nerf Boot camp, Potions parties and Chamber of Treasure.  We travel to where you are Tri-Cities , Vancouver , Surrey , Delta, Ladner, Pitt Meadows, maple Ridge and the North Shore.  We have done shows in whistler but there is a travel fee for the area.

 

Some of our biggest customers are the Vancouver club, Arbutus Club, Vancouver Film School,  several schools and city events in plaza’s.

The following is a selection of our birthday parties  at Young Wizards Academy that work well in the outdoor elements for summer.  They can however be modified to be indoors if on the big day appears.  12 Themes available !  at Young Wizards Academy

 

 

Finding the Force Within -   Train with Master Obi- Kai, feel and see objects move,  Receive a foam Sabre,  and go into Light Sabre Training with Obi-Kai. Go into the ancient target practice technique, then the master will prepare to take the kids on a top secret mission.      Will a Villain appear?  It may be a final battle to the end, Ages 4 to 8 years. Parties are for the Greater Vancouver Area.  Please call for availability and dates. 

 

Nerf Combat training – Meet Captain GI Joe of the Canadian Nerf Army Corp.  Captain Joe will train the young ones how to use several Nerf Blasters, aiming and hiding tactics.  Lead the Kids through a fun Boot Camp and then a sniper competition, quick draw tournament and then setting up bases.  Once the bases are up the fun really begins with a capture the trophy round and elimination round .  I final free for all with end this 70min adventure!     

 

Nerf Hunger Games with Catniss

Get a lesson on the Bow and Arrow from Catniss herself!  Learn all the aspects of shooting the arrow and even shoot a few targets.  Catniss will then invite you into the Hunger Tournament Games.   Be chosen into a district, receive the district tunic and enter into the games.  Catniss sets up the arena for a final cornucopia Nerf battle to discover who this year’s victor will be.  All kids receive a mocking jay pin that they get to keep and take home.

KIDS BIRTHDAY PARTY VANCOUVER

 

This New Nerf boot Camp Adventure can take place in a yard, Rec room, activity room or Recreational Canter.  We bring all the gear!  Rainy days yes this party can be done indoors.   We have pop up bases the kids can hide behind and even crawl through out, each kid gets to wear an army helmet for their battles.  We also bring all the safety glasses for the kids to wear, they are also mandatory for all the Nerf activities.  We also bring all blasters for each and every child in the birthday party to use.

Captain GI Joe of the Canadian Nerf Army Corp we put the kids through a mini boot camp to get the kids all warmed up with a Hut Hut Jog and stretch warm up.  The captain teaches them survival and shooting tactics and learning the important Nerf rules to make the games flow well.

 

The first blaster the kids get to use is a Nerf Jolt it is a small blaster that only shoots one bullet, there is a lever the kids pull then it is ready to fire.  The Nerf Jolt is the perfect blaster for the Mexican Stand-off.  Where the kids line up back to back then take three steps away from each other, then turn and fire.

We also perform an old fashion quick draw competition.  Kids get to see how fast they can draw the blaster at each old in this cool quick draw tournament, Who will be the last man standing !

Do you know about Young Wizards Academy?   For the past three years Young Wizards Academy has grown to now have twelve different themes for kid’s birthday parties.  Minecraft, Nerf, Finding the Force are just a few to name.   All these parties at Young Wizards Academy are all lead by a main Character, all parties include some sort of costume for the child to dress up in, and most parties the kids get to take home a saber, sword, wand  or crystal!  These parties are a full on group activity that all the kids get into, much of the time there is magic involved in the activity.  So it creates the reality of really shooting your wand or using the force magic. 

We service the Vancouver area including Port Coquitlam, tri-cities, Surrey, Delta and Cloverdale, Up and coming Langley, North Vancouver birthday parties, Port Moody and New Westminster.  We have done the occasional party in Squamish and parties all the way to Mission; however there is a larger travel fee for those areas. 

Our most popular party is the Finding the Force Within Party where all the kids go through Masters training and receive a saber that they get to keep forever along with a Kyber crystal found in a treasure box!

Nerf Combat training, Finding the Force Within and Minecraft are just some of the full costumed events that we provide for kids birthday parties at Young Wizards Academy .  All events are full costumed and many times the kids get to keep their saber and sword except for Nerf.  All parties are 60 to 70 min and we come to you. So we travel to where you would like the party. We do provide many birthday parties at Parks through-out the Vancouver and lower mainland area. Backyard parties are great too, it is best though to provide a little shade for the kids as they are wearing a robe, tunic or in case of the Nerf a armoured helmet.

AMAZING KIDS BIRTHDAY PARTY VANCOUVER

 

 The Nerf party is a new event added by Young Wizards Academy this year, we bring three different types of blasters and the whole party is organized and run By Captain GI Joe of the Canadian Nerf Army Corp.  He brings all the blasters, cool pop up bases with tunnels, glasses for the kids and armour helmets. It’s one of our newest hottest parties at Young Wizards Academy.

 

It’s always best to arrive a bit early in the morning to reserve a great location at the park, quite often it’s first come first serve with the Picnic tables.  It’s nice after the kids finish their adventure with Young Wizards Academy that they can sit down have lunch, blow out the birthday candles and possibly open presents.  It’s also best to be not so close to the playground as often the entertainers shows up and all the kids want to join the action.

Making Moms Marvelous really takes the event decorating to the next level with some amazing custom made looking banners, center pieces, food labels, utensil wraps, balloon archways, backdrops and invitations all personalized to your theme! Whatever you can dream of they seem to make.

I just recently got her to make a banner for my daughter’s themed Master Chef Canada birthday party.

I bought the banner from her.

Yes we had all the girls making their best pizza that was then judged at the end. We made it similar to the TV show Master Chef Canada Junior with them being introduced in the begging and telling a little bit about themselves, then having 10min to create a pizza creation to impress the judges. After cooked they presented the pizza to the judges discussing their ingredients in the pizza and inspiration of why they created it.

Working with the owner Amanda Noble was very easy & quick to create a birthday special banner for my daughter’s event made it even better. I am a working dad and having so having her do some of the work for me really saved me time and the decoration she made,  I couldn’t possible imagine making myself.   I highly recommend Making Moms Marvelous if you are looking for a decorating service company, she really went above and beyond my expectations.  Thanks so much Amanda!
