Hosting a kids birthday party in the winter

Tips to hosting a birthday party during the winter.

Are you looking to have a big themed birthday party? Thinking about how to host a dozen kids out of your living room?  Here is some ideas and tips to help celebrating your child’s big day but indoors.

At home - Now depending on the size of your home there is a definite limit to how many kids you can have racing throughout your house.  I usually see at parties that 8-12 kids seem to be the magic number when hosting a party at home. If happening in the living room, make sure you remove your coffee table or move back couches to the walls especially if you’re hiring an entertainer to come.  It will give the kids space to move freely. Create activities in other areas of your house to utilize your space and lessen any stuffy, cooped up feelings.

The local rec center – If you have bigger ideas in mind try renting a room at your local center. You will be surprized how affordable renting a room for two hours. Keep in mind when kids are given a bigger space they often can become more physical and be bouncing off the wall. Having carefully planned activities is important with a bigger space.  Also be sure to book far enough in advanced as weekends taken up quickly.

Amenity rooms - These are great if you have one for your building. They are usually free to use but make sure to book several weeks before the event. If you don’t have one ask your friend they are quite easy to book and friends always love to show off their building.

Other considerations are play centers, bowling alleys and movie theaters.
